Winter Track & Field 2010 - 2011
TEAM RULES, PENALTIES and EXPECTATIONS
You are to let Coach Wood know that you can not be at a practice ahead of time. This can be done by note or in person. Also, you are to bring in a note from your parent that explains why you were absent. You will no longer be able to participate with the team until you bring in the note from your parents. After three unexcused absences from practice you will be removed from the team. All decisions are up to the discretion of the coaching staff.
You must give Coach Wood a written note from your parents at least two weeks before a meet, but preferably at the start of the season, explaining which meets you can not attend and why. This note is to be signed by your parents.
If you do not come to a meet that you were scheduled to participate in, you will be removed from the team. If you are sick on the day of a meet, you are to call coach Wood on his cell phone that morning. Missing two meets, even if you have told Coach Wood in advance, will equal one unexcused practice. All decisions are up to the discretion of the coaching staff.
If you do not have the proper equipment, you will not be able to practice and it will count as an unexcused absence. You will also need a note from your parents explaining that they know you were unprepared before you can come back to practice.
Injuries are a part on any sport. If you sustain an injury you are to report to the coaches and do whatever workouts you still can, such as riding a bike or weight lifting. You are also to come to the meets where you will act as a manager. Any athlete that is injured is expected to be aggressive in your recovery. That means getting to physical therapy as soon as possible.
This is a competitive High School Team. We have one goal and one goal only…to win the VARSITY TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS. It is expected that your purpose for being on this team is the same. Our lower levels are designed to develop you towards performing on a varsity level. This is not an individual sport…it is a TEAM SPORT and both the coaches and the athletes are expected to treat it as such.
You represent St. Johns while attending meets! You are to behave in a manner that is consistent with being a St. John student at all times. You are not to behave in any way that would shed a bad light on SJB.
While at practice you must pay attention and follow the coaches’ directions.
All decisions are up to the discretion of the coaching staff.
All team information will be updated weekly at www.coachwood.org
